This and That

Well here we are in Idaho, where it's cold and dreary! We don't usually get snow so it's just cold and dead. But it sure makes it feel more like Christmas than back in AZ! I love scarves and sweaters so it's all good! Of course I want to buy every little winter accessory I see for my girls but I can't justify it since we will be back in AZ in a month.
Thanksgiving was awesome and I got to see old friends which was nice. The girls are getting way too spoiled of course and Lauren is developing the attitude to go along with it. I think I'm going to go crazy....maybe I'll just leave her here! We miss all of our friends in AZ. You guys need to blog more! Cory is back at school until he comes back Dec. 19th. We miss him a lot!

So now I'm going to rant about a little love of mine which may be really boring but I can't seem to load any of my pictures on this computer right now so this will be an impersonal post as far as pictures go!
I went to this awesome little boutique called Lilliput in Moscow, ID today. It is one of my favorite stops. I make a special 30 minute trip just to go there for cool baby things. I have a thing for boutiques even though I can hardly ever afford anything in them!

I have a bit of a shoe fetish. Not for my own feet though. (You try having size 11 feet and see the lack of cute shoes you find!) So therefore I have a kids shoe fetish!

My mom bought Lauren these cute little "see kai run" shoes. I LOVE this brand. Leather uppers with butter-soft flexible soles. I have purchased 3 pairs in this brand.

I also LOVE Robeez! I'm sure everyone has heard of these and if not..you need to check them out. At first glance I thought "ugly". But then I bought some really cute green with pink flower ones for Lauren when she was a baby and have been in love since. She walked early and VERY balanced which I attributed to these shoes. They are the next best thing to bare feet. And Lauren wore one size for 6 months. They stretch to fit. Kristen already has 3 pair!
Plus, they are easy on/hard to get off. Do we see a trend here with brown/pink and polka dots?? LOVE THEM!
Okay, enough ranting and raving!

First Pigtails

So I decided to put pigtails in Kristen's crazy hair...
They're a bit little and silly but still cute!

By request!

Ok Laura! Here is Lauren singing "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash about a year ago. My daughter has a very wide range of music tastes!

Dancing Queen!

Ok, this is a lil' somthin' somthin' for my old pal Rochelle! This was our theme song when we ruled the stake dances back in the day! Now it just so happens to be Lauren's favorite song. Everytime we get in the van she begs for me to play it!
Ohhh Rochelle...remember the days of being "only 17"??? We seriously were cool, even if we were in our own little world!

Oh and yes people...the VW Bug pictured was our main mode of transportation! It was rockin' awesome!

a thought

I was driving on the 101 (one of the main freeways in town for those of you not here!) tonight and witnessed an accident. The van was in front of me, blew a tire, swerved out of control and rolled over. I pulled over and called 911. I have no idea how the people are and how badly hurt they were since I couldn't just turn around on a busy freeway.
It made me really think about how that could have been me and how sometimes I'm a bit relaxed when it comes to how well restrained my children are in the car. I always buckle them up of course but maybe not as tightly as they should be buckled. It's just a reminder to please, let's all make an effort to be extra careful. It breaks my heart to think that there might have been children in that van. Hopefully everyone was wearing seatbelts!
Scary stuff.
I just wanted to cuddle my kids and be so thankful it wasn't us. Lauren saw the whole thing.
She later told everyone that I "freaked out". She doesn't seem to be affected at all!
